The Most Accessible Log Cabin in the Forest

The Spruce Hut is our universally designed treehouse cabin, featuring a wooden ramp leading all the way to the cabin instead of stairs. It also has a larger bathroom than our other cabins Tretop huts. Here, families with young children can wheel their stroller right up to the door, and the cabin is well-suited for those who want to avoid stairs.

The cabin features a cozy sleeping alcove with windows and a double bed measuring 120 x 200 cm. The loft has two 120 x 200 cm mattresses—one on each side of the staircase—with room for four people. From here, you can wake up to a beautiful view of the natural surroundings. In the living room, the sofa bench can also be used as a sleeping spot for one person.
There is sleeping space for up to seven people in total, but it will naturally be a bit cramped. If you’re a larger group, we recommend combining The Spruce Hut with The Birch Hut, or with The Birch Hut and The Lavvo, which are just a few minutes’ walk away.

Birds, Squirrels, and a Fire Pit
On the porch, you can lightthe fire pit and simply enjoy life around the cabin. Birds and squirrels often come to visit, and it’s easy to linger here for a long time with a hot drink in hand and nature as your entertainment.
In the spring, you might be lucky enough to see black grouse lekking from the cabin, and more rarely, black grouse cocks may also appear in the fall.

Canoes, Bikes, and Skis
A canoe with paddles and four life jackets is included in your stay. So are two mountain bikes with helmets, so you can easily explore the forest and the areas around the cabin on your own.
In winter, beautiful ski trails are located just about 100 meters from the cabin. From here, it’s a short ski out onto the varied trail network in Veldre Almenning.
The Spruce Hut is a great base for families and groups who want to be close to nature—with the forest, birdlife, ski trails, and little adventures right outside the door.

The Spruce Hut Located at Danseråsen, 600 meters above sea level. Parking near the cabin, and a 35-meter-long safe and secure ramp leading up through the forest to the cabin. Perfect for families with children and guests who have difficulty with stairs.

    There are small bodies of water, dammed or natural, at all of the Treetop Cabins, except at Furu and The Climbing Hut.

    The tree houses are built in communal forests with an extensive network of forest roads with little traffic – ideal for cycling trips.

  • Snowshoes

    We have four pairs of snowshoes available for free use by our Tretopphyttegjester guests, except at The Climbing Hut. The snowshoes are hung on the cabin wall, railing, or in the outdoor shed.

  • Kick supports

    At Tretopphyttene, apart from The Climbing Hut, there are old-fashioned winter conditions with excellent skiing conditions for much of the winter.

    The tree houses are located in areas with an early and stable ski season, except for The Climbing Hut is located by Lake Mjøsa.
