The price includes firewood, firelighters, matches, birdseed, tea lights/candles, toilet paper/paper towels, salt and pepper, cooking oil, cleaning supplies, tableware, and the pots and pans you need to cook Food. The most affordable cabin is The Pine Hut.

All the treehouse cabins are suitable for a couple. The cabins range in size from 12 to 17 m2, but the size of the porches varies. " The Pine Hut " is the smallest, and "Forest View" is the largest.

Here, nature and the experiences vary from season to season. That’s why we’d like to encourage you to stay for more than one night. Ringsaker and the surrounding areas offer plenty to experience throughout the year, and we want you to have time to both enjoy the cabin and explore what the local area has to offer.

🌱 Spring
Spring brings birdlife, black grouse leks, forest hikes, and the first beautiful days by the water. At this time of year, you can experience nature coming to life, with birdsong and wildlife right near the cabins.

☀️ Summer
Summer is perfect for kayaking, biking, fishing, hiking, and long days outdoors. You can explore the forest and Lake Mjøsa, visit local farms and restaurants, or simply enjoy lazy days on the porch.

🍂 Fall
Fall offers beautiful colors, crisp air, and great hiking opportunities. The forest is at its most beautiful, and this is a wonderful time to go for a hike, pick berries and mushrooms, or simply enjoy the tranquility around a campfire. As the evenings grow darker, it’s especially lovely to gaze at the starry sky. You can also combine your stay with activities like dog sledding on bare ground and “ Sleigh ride ” on wheels.

❄️ Winter
Winter offers a completely different treehouse experience. Ski trails, snow, snowshoe hikes, sledding, campfires, Sleigh ride , and dog sledding take center stage. When the snow blankets the cabins and the forest becomes quiet and magical, you truly get the feeling of being deep in the winter landscape. At the same time, Ringsaker places great emphasis on “Christmas in in Prøysenland” with its atmospheric pedestrian streets and markets, as well as performances for the whole family starting in November.

We have therefore lowered the price per night when you book multiple nights. We do this because we want you to have time to relax, enjoy the cabin, and at the same time experience more of Ringsaker and the surrounding area.

One night goes by quickly. Two or more nights give you time to both enjoy the cabin and experience something new every day.

You pay when you book online, just like in an online store.

Check-in and check-out times vary for our cabins. The View Nest: check-in at 1:00 p.m., check-out at 11:00 a.m. The Pine Hut: 2:00 p.m.–12:00 p.m. Lerk and The Sky Hut: 3:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. Gran and The Birch Hut: 4:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. The Climbing Hut: 5:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. Forest View: 5:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.

In Ringsaker, north of Hamar. Most of the cabins are located in the communal forest, a 15- to 30-minute drive from downtown Brumunddal, while The Climbing Hut is located at Helgøya on Lake Mjøsa, about a 30-minute drive from Brumunddal. It’s a 1.5-hour drive from Oslo.

You can order both dinner and breakfast. The food will be delivered to your cabin before your arrival, and you can easily heat up dinner yourselves. We do not offer food delivery to The Climbing Hut.

Yes, in all cabins except The View Nest. We do not allow dogs on the sofa or beds. Please bring a dog waste bag and clean up after your dog.

This also depends on when you personally think nature is at its most beautiful, and what activities you’d like to do during your stay (Sleigh ride, dog sledding, cross-country skiing, biking, berry picking, kayaking, swimming, and playing in the snow). Really stormy weather with wind and rain can also be very exciting, while creating a cozy atmosphere.

All of our cabins have their own charm, and all are well-suited for two people. The differences mainly come down to comfort, location, views, and the activities you’d like to have right nearby.

Here are a few simple tips that can make your decision easier:

  • The Pine Hut: Our simplest and most basic cabin—no electricity, shower, or running water. Intimate and cozy, it’s best suited for 2–4 people. Here you’ll experience the simple cabin life, with nature right at your doorstep. Orreleik in the spring.
  • The Birch Hut: Large porch that gets sun from morning to evening, and a small body of water right below the cabin. Small body of water with free use of a canoe. Beautifully groomed ski trails right nearby.
  • The Spruce Hut: A great choice for families with young children, or if anyone in your group has a disability. The cabin is universally accessible. It features a ramp instead of stairs, and there are beautifully groomed ski trails right nearby. A canoe and a fire pit are included.
  • The Larch Hut: The only cabin with a separate bedroom on the main floor. A small body of water, canoeing, and trout fishing right outside, and great opportunities to see moose. A ski trail is about 50 meters away. There is also a campfire site on the hillside.
  • The Sky Hut: Choose this one if the view and the starry sky are your top priorities. Panoramic views, skylights, and a veranda surrounding the entire cabin. Here, you can also go kayaking and trout fishing.
  • The Climbing Hut: For those of you who want to combine a treehouse stay with rock climbing and other activities at Helgøya. The cabin is located right next to Helgøya Klatrepark, where our guests receive a 10% discount.
  • The View Nest: Our most spectacular treehouse— built around a single tree and capable of rotating, with a floating bed, panoramic views, and a rooftop terrace. Within walking distance of dog sledding.
  • Forest View: A cabin on stilts atop the forest's highest peak. Larger than the treetop cabins, with a fantastic view and a wood-fired hot tub.

Are you traveling in a group? If so, we recommend The Birch Hut and The Spruce Hut, which are located about 200 meters apart. The Lavvo is also just a few minutes’ walk away and can be used as a meeting place for the group.

Would you like to experience Orreleik? Choose The Pine Hut, The Birch Hut , or The Spruce Hut from late March through mid-May.

Would you like to go canoeing? You can go at The Larch Hut, The Birch Hut, The Spruce Hut , and The Sky Hut.

Would you like a hot tub? Choose Forest View

Would you like to go skiing? The Spruce Hut and The Birch Hut are closest to the most frequently groomed ski trails. The Larch Hut, The View Nest , and Forest View also have a ski trail about 50 meters away, but it is groomed somewhat less frequently. At The Pine Hut , you’ll get more of an authentic wilderness experience and make your own tracks; alternatively, you can drive to Ljøsheim.

Do you have small children, or do you need step-free access? " The Spruce Hut " is the only cabin with a ramp leading all the way to the door, making it the best option for strollers and people who have difficulty with stairs.

Are you unsure about heights? The Spruce Hut, The Birch Hut , and The Climbing Hut offer the most sheltered experience. But we’ve also received a lot of feedback from guests saying that the treetop cabin is a great way to get comfortable with heights! The Pine Hut offers the greatest sense of height, and The View Nest offers the most movement.

Are you planning to go dog sledding? The dog sledding group meets at our service building at Danseråsvegen 173. “ The View Nest ” is the closest, at 300 meters, while it takes about 3–8 minutes by car—and about 30 minutes by sled—from Forest View, Lerk, Gran, Bjørk, and Himmel. Furu and “ The Climbing Hut ” are a 20–45-minute drive away.

No matter which cabin you choose, you'll enjoy nature, tranquility, and a stay that's a little out of the ordinary.

Drinking water, indoor shoes, flashlight/headlamp, power bank, bedding/sleeping bag if you don’t want to rent one from us (duvets and pillows are provided in the cabin), and, if desired, charcoal for the grill, Food , and drinks. Space is limited in the Tretop cabins, so please don’t bring too much. An information sheet will be sent to guests after booking.

Yes, it costs 149 kr per bedding set. We provide towels and bedding in a cloth bag in the cabin, and guests must put them on and take them off themselves before departure.

There are coffee makers at The View Nest and The Climbing Hut. Some locations at cabins have French presses. We recommend bringing instant coffee.

  • More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund minus NOK 390 in booking fees. Rescheduling your stay is free of charge.
  • 30–14 days before arrival: 50% refund
  • Less than 14 days before arrival: No refunds for cancellations or rescheduling.

If you need to cancel due to illness, we recommend checking to see if your travel insurance covers the costs.

Final cleaning costs 499 NOK in all the wooden cabins. At Forest View, which is a larger cabin, it costs 899 NOK. Dishwashing is not included.

The cabins are located in Ringsaker , and several are in the communal forest. 1.5 hours north of Oslo

🚗 By car
Take the E6 to Brumunddal and continue on to the cabins in Veldre Almenning. It takes between 15 and 30 minutes to get from the E6 to the cabins, and there is Parking at or near all the cabins.

🚆 Train
Take the train to Brumunddal Station. Trains depart from Oslo and continue north toward Lillehammer. From Brumunddal, you can take a taxi to the cabin, or we can often help with transportation. price starting at 500 NOK per car, with room for up to four people. Feel free to send us an email if you plan to arrive by train.

✈️ Flight
The nearest airport is Oslo Airport Gardermoen. From the airport, you can take a train to Brumunddal Station, and from there, a taxi or pre-arranged transportation to the cabin. Check current departures and travel times using Vy’s trip planner, as these vary depending on the departure.

If you're coming without a car, we recommend that you contact us in advance so we can look into transportation options from Brumunddal to the cabin.

There are usually squirrels at the feeding stations near all the Tretopp cabins.

Yes, except at The Pine Hut, The Climbing Hut , and Forest View. Two paddles and two life jackets are included. We recommend bringing your own life jacket for the youngest children. You can rent a kayak through “Infoteket” in Tingnes if you’re visiting The Climbing Hut.

Yes, at our service center at Danseråsvegen 173. A short walk from The View Nest.

Yes, The Spruce Hut is universally accessible, with a wooden ramp leading from Parking to the cabin. It features a spacious bathroom and access to a sleeping alcove on the main floor.
