This depends on when you find nature the most beautiful and the activities you wish to do during your stay (sleigh rides, horseback riding, dog sledding, skiing, cycling, berry picking, paddling, swimming, birdwatching). Stormy weather with wind and rain can also be exciting and create a cozy atmosphere.

The treetop cabins have their own charm, and it is difficult for us to say which cabin will suit you. The cabins range from 12-17m2 in floor space, so none of the cabins will seem too big for two people! The Fir Cabin is the smallest of the cabins and has the least comfort, while the Birch Cabin has the most space both inside and out on the veranda.

Here is some information that may make it easier for you to make a choice.

All the Treetop Cabins, except the Fir Cabin, have the option of hot and cold running water in the taps and shower. They have a bio toilet in the cabin in addition to an outdoor toilet on the ground floor, as well as electricity. The Fir Cabin is somewhat simpler and smaller in size - intimate and cozy, perfect for 2-4 people, but can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. The Fir Cabin only has an outdoor toilet. It is based on the guest doing the cleaning and washing themselves - i.e. it does not have daily follow-up from us if cleaning has not been ordered. Therefore, you will sometimes find the cabin in the same condition as the previous guest left it.

If you want to see orreleik, choose Furu, Bjørk or Granhytta in April or the first half of May. Paddling can be done at Gran, - Lerk, - Bjørk and Himmelhytta. Fishing is possible at Lerk and Himmelhytta.

There are great ski trails around Granhytta and Bjørkhytta. There is also a ski trail at Lerkhytta, but here it is driven up a little less often. At Furuhytta you have to make your own tracks in beautiful wilderness nature. If you drive 10-15 minutes from Furu towards Ljøsheim you will come to great prepared ski trails.

There is a possibility of dog sledding outside Gran and Bjørkhytta. Guests in Himmelhytta must drive about 1.5 km for dog sledding, Lerkhytta about 7 km. Even further for Furu and Klatrehytta.

Himmelhytta has panoramic views, and is built with skylights on a spacious sleeping loft, as well as a veranda around the entire cabin. Received a lot of attention after the program "Himmelhytta" with Dorthe Skappel. Bjørk, Klatre, and Granhytta also have skylights.

Lerkhytta has the best patio on the ground floor and the most space for children to play. If you have small children, Gran, Bjørk, Lerkhytta and Klatrehytta are recommended in order of priority. Granhytta is the only Treetophytta with a ramp, and not stairs. This is therefore also suitable for strollers/wheelchair users/the disabled.

If you are afraid of heights, Gran, Bjørk or Klatrehytta are recommended in order of priority. The treetophyttas cure your fear of heights!Klatrehytta is located on the edge of Klatreparken on Helgøya, with a view of Mjøsa. There are great hiking opportunities here both on foot and by bike. "Skafferiet" is a few minutes away by car, and Hoel farm and Kvarstad farm are worth a visit. Contact the "Infoteket" at Tingnes to book activities such as cycling and kayaking, or contact Helgøya climbing park if you want to climb. As a guest in Tretophyttene you get a 10% discount in the climbing park.

If you are traveling together and need more than one cabin, we recommend Gran and Bjørkhytta. These are located approx. 200m away from each other. In addition, we have lavvoen which is a short walk from these.

Free trout fishing is available for guests at Himmelhytta and a small pond near Lerkhytta. For other fishing or hunting opportunities, visit https://www.rjfo.no.
