Larch Hut

  • 3 double beds
  • 2 extra beds
  • Organic toilett
  • Shower

The Larch Hut was built in 2010, and is located between larch trees in Marklykja in Veldre Almenning. It is 15 square meters, and fully winter insulated.

The veranda is about 8 meters above forest ground. Larch Hut has some similarities to the Spruce Hut in size and design, but instead of sleeping alcove, there is a separate sleeping room with bedspace for two, and there is a staircase to the hut instead of a walk ramp. You can park right outside the hut.

The Larch Hut contains a combined living room and kitchen with gas cooker, sink, refrigerator and all you need of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. In the sleeping loft there is a queen size mattress at both sides of the stairs, and in the living room the angular sofa bench can easily be converted into sleeping space for two people.
It can fit in up to 8 people, counting in the two sleeping on the sofa benches, although it will then feel a bit crowded. There are duvets and pillows in the hut. Bring your own bed linen, or rent this for NOK 99,- per set.

There is a compost toilet and possibilities for taking a shower in the hut, and a wood stove for heating and atmosphere. There is also an outdoor toilet in the outhouse on the forest ground. Firewood, gas, candles, matches, toilet paper, kitchen wipes and sunflower seeds for birds are in the hut. Solar paneling with battery provides reading light, charging possibilities for telephones, computers, etc.

From the veranda you get an airy and mile wide view, with a pond for swimming or trout fishing right in front of the hut. There is a myriad of small birds on the feeding trays around windows and terrace railing. Down at the forest ground, there is a large shelter with bonfire and room for many guests. The blackcock plays from the birch trees in front of the hut during autumn, winter and spring.
